Four questions before you buy
Capacity
How much, how often?
12–22 L for daily carry and day hikes; 30–40 L when you need shoes, a change of clothes, or a carry-on. Our daypack is 22 L; the duffel, 35 L.
Carry system
On your back or over a shoulder?
Padded straps and a back panel for loads you'll carry far; a single padded shoulder strap for short hauls and the gym.
Closure
Fixed or flexible volume?
A roll-top flexes from half-full to overstuffed and seals out weather; a zip is faster for gear you reach for constantly.
Durability
Where will it live?
Higher-denier coated fabrics (600D) for floors and grit; lighter recycled ripstop (420D) when grams matter on the trail.
